This young man just had a birthday and its all good for this special dog-
His mom writes,
"Rocky is just special. I was looking through his paperwork last week and noted that his birthday was listed as Sept.13, 2003. He is such a lover. He is always bringing me a toy and asking to play tug, or rolling over and offering his tummy for a rub."
These photos were forwarded to us from animal rescuers of cattle and horses in dire straits. They are stranded in the water, their hay is ruined by salt water, and the ranchers/ farmers are in desperate trouble. These photos were taken yesterday.

We had one dog and three of our cats adopted over the weekend at the Johnston PetSmart. Several of our cats are at their adoption center, where you can visit them during store hours.
Adopted on 9/11/07, Wiley has been in a loving home for one year now. His owners, Kelly and Jessica, wrote this update for us. Click on their letter and you can read all about Wiley!
Slinky is a rambunctious, playful boy who was surrendered because the owner did not "want a black cat." That was back in April, and he has finally gotten his chance for a permanent home. We named him "Slinky Malinky" for the cat from the children's book by the same name(see previous post here.) We made a photocopy of the front of the book to put in his cage sign sleeve, and he's had alot of fun shredding it the past few months. This is a boy who really needs room to roam and now he will be out in the country.
Nina is a super sweet, but shy girl who needed a quiet environment. Her story was first posted in this blog on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. She has been in foster care but now will have a permanent home. Read more......
