"Hello - Just wanted to give you an update on Miss Bonnie- She has officially joined the family - she no longer hides upstairs, she is downstairs most of the day - sitting atop the couch, following the sun
from window to window. She is not hissing anymore - she isn't sure
about my grandaughter ( she is 2 1/2) but she doesn't go under the bed when she is here. Bonnie is getting playful - chasing lint and shadows. She loves to be pet and brushed - if I get tired brushing and just lay the brush on the floor she brushes herself HUM!! She does love the brush."Bonnie was with us for five months before she was adopted - read about her progress.
Hello - I just wanted to give you an update on how Bonnie is adapting to her new home. Upon arrival she immediately went into hiding under the bed, hissed at me and my husband for a while. Even when I got into bed ( she was under the bed hissing) Next day she ventured out and went on top of the bed - THAT IS NOW HER SPACE- she is eating and using the litter box fine. Since yesterday she has officially come down stairs a few times ( on her own) and she lets you know when she
wants to go to bed ( she keeps coming down - until we go upstairs)
This morning she pushed her food dish at me - it was empty. So I would say she is adjusting - she is still very nervous at all sounds- and runs to hide - but it is less than a week, so I feel pretty good.-
I will be calling to set up a vet appointment sometime next week.

This is what Cathy's profile of Bonnie said on Petfinder:"Bonnie needs a home. Poor Bonnie has been at the shelter since August 2nd. She was brought to us because the family she was living with had a house in foreclosure. She did not take to the shelter for a few weeks. She was miserable, hissy, and not a very nice cat. Well, 5 months have passed, and I love this cat. I respect her for who she is, and I don't push her to do anything she does not want to do.
Bonnie is a 5 - 7 year old, spayed, beautiful medium length calico. She DOES NOT LIKE other cats. She should be in a quiet home with no children and no other pets. She would probably do best with someone who has experience with cats and can read their signals.
Bonnie loves it when I pet her and she is always trying to get my attention. Whenever I walk by, she expects me to open her cage and pet her for a while (which I do quite often). I would imagine that once Bonnie adjusts to a new home, she will be a snuggly lap cat. She just needs time and patience. Bonnie needs that right person to come along and take a chance on her."
Today was her day!
And our staff is elated!!!
