Hennessy Trains for CGC test

This beautiful girl was surrendered last June when her family moved.
Hennessy is sweet, but shy at times. Needs adult home as this is a large powerful dog. Also a gentle home to build her confidence.
Hennessy is now being trained to pass the Canine Good Citizens Test in February. She is progressing nicely with her commands and has been socializing with other dogs. Although Hennessy likes some other dogs she if very physical and would be best as the only pet. Henny is a staff favorite and loves people and attention.

Pony Training for his Canine Good Citizen Certification

Handsome Guy Pony is a 4 yr old Pit mix. Pony is enrolled in training to become Canine Good Citizen Certified (CGC). Pony is a sweet boy doing well with basic commands and socializing with dogs. Pony plays well with female dogs, he is a gentle dog and loves everyone!
Pony is working hard on his commands and is a staff favorite at the RISPCA. He's been with us since August when his owner moved.

A dog who has his or her CGC is a huge plus for adopters, renters, and can help with your insurance. This certification lets people know your dog has good manners and has worked hard to attain their certification.

Our dog trainer Heidi D'Ascoli is a certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and is in the process of putting together a program for our area. If you have an interest in attending a CGC Certification class, contact Liz. Follow this link on the AKC website to "Evaluators" in Massachusetts.

Nikki - Adoption Update Photos

We are so happy for Nikki and her new owner!
Read more about Nikki..... and here

Nikki had her first trip to PetsMart with me today. She was fine with everyone in the store....even the little dogs that barked at her. She walked right beside me the whole time...never tried to go away from me. Although...I think she wanted to pick out every toy in the store for herself.
I've attached three pictures of her...out in the snow.....resting.....and posing before I gave her a chew bone Saturday night.
Nikki says tell you all hello.....and that she's very happy here!
Thanks again!

Bonnie Sunshine - Adoption Update

Hello -
I just wanted to give you an update on how Bonnie is adapting to her new home. Upon arrival she immediately went into hiding under the bed, hissed at me and my husband for a while. Even when I got into bed ( she was under the bed hissing) Next day she ventured out and went on top of the bed - THAT IS NOW HER SPACE- she is eating and using the litter box fine. Since yesterday she has officially come down stairs a few times ( on her own) and she lets you know when she
wants to go to bed ( she keeps coming down - until we go upstairs)
This morning she pushed her food dish at me - it was empty. So I would say she is adjusting - she is still very nervous at all sounds- and runs to hide - but it is less than a week, so I feel pretty good.-
I will be calling to set up a vet appointment sometime next week.
Thanks for pointing me in her direction.
